Mohammadreza Sharifi, Deputy CEO for Strategy and Technology Development at Mobarakeh Steel Company, in an interview with Foolad correspondent, stated: Mobarakeh Steel’s inclusion in the final shortlist for the global Excellence in Sustainability 2025 Award is not merely an honor for Iran’s steel industry, but a clear indication of the organization’s movement toward strategic maturity and organizational excellence. He further added: This prestigious award is presented by the World Steel Association (World Steel), an entity that represents over 85% of global steel production and has defined the Steelie Awards as the most credible framework for assessing the industry’s global performance. The Deputy CEO for Strategy and Technology Development at Mobarakeh Steel Company noted: The project for converting industrial sludge into strategic value is an example of how a complex environmental challenge can be transformed into a strategic and competitive advantage by combining technological innovation, social responsibility, and sustainable economic approaches. This project successfully covered the three main dimensions of sustainability—the environment, economy, and society—and moved toward realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He asserted: For us, this achievement is not just an industrial project, but part of a macro approach at Mobarakeh Steel. Guided by our core purpose, “A Responsible Company for a Better Future,” we seek to leverage the circular economy, reduce reliance on virgin resources, and develop green technologies as tools for organizational excellence. Our presence in this award demonstrates that Mobarakeh Steel is recognized not only in Iran but globally as a benchmark for sustainable innovation.
